History of the Manor House
The Renaissance fortified manor house with corner towers was built after 1663 on late Gothic foundations from the 15th century. In the 18th century it became the property of the family Keglevichovci and from 1812 the manor house became the property of the Odescalchi family.
The center of the building was a palace built in the style of a residential tower, with vaulted spaces and a ceremonial hall. The corner circular bastion with a circular stair tower, in which Arthur Odescalchi allegedly preferred to stay, was also very visible.
In 1893, Archduke Augustine of Habsburg of Topoľčianky bought the entire property and annexed it to his estate. In 1920 the property, together with the manor house, became state-owned.
It became private property in 2000, when its extensive reconstruction began. It included, among other things, the introduction of gas and electricity into the building, the implementation of water distribution and connection to the local sewer. Heating is provided by radiators and underfloor heating. There are several fireplaces in the manor which are functional and help to make cold days more pleasant.
